Location
In 1980, the Village of South Russell implemented a full-time, state certified Building Department. The Building and Zoning Department is located at the southeast corner of Bell and Chillicothe roads.
Permits
Zoning permits are required when any structure, sign or use, is erected, enlarged or established in any manner. Zoning permits are also required for any business use within a home residence or a commercial business.
Building permits are required for any new structures, additions, or alterations, and for structural or mechanical repairs. Any changes made to the land’s contours will require a review of the project.

Laura moved to South Russell in July of 1981 and graduated from Sawyer Business Collage in 1979.
Laura was hired as the Building Department Secretary in May 2001.
Laura enjoys gardening, making pottery, reading and spending time with her husband Greg and children Amy and Andrew. Laura also has three grown stepchildren, Tracie, Charlie and Destiny.
