Two Special Events are being presented by The South Russell Police Department.





















The South Russell Police Department
and
the Geauga County Department of Aging

invites the senior citizens of
South Russell Village and Geauga County
to our semi-annual



C.O.P.S. & Seniors (Concerned Officers Protecting Seniors) presentation.

This event will be held on Monday, May 5th, 2014
at the South Russell Village Hall, 5205 Chillicothe Road (Rt. 306)
beginning at 10:00 am.

The C.O.P.S. Program was designed to keep our senior citizens informed and educated about scams targeting seniors, and provides advice on safeguarding your home and property.

South Russell Police Department will have general discussions regarding scams targeting seniors
and a Q & A session with the Chief.

A representative from the Geauga Department of Aging will be on hand
providing information on services available to residents.

Free coffee and snacks will be provided.

The South Russell Police Department will host their second annual
“Cops and Kids Fishing”
event on Sunday, June 8th, 2014 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Bellwood Lake.
Participants are asked to bring their fishing rods.
The police department will provide the bait along with refreshments and snacks.

Although registration is not required, the police department would like to hear from those planning on attending.

The South Russell Police Department, lead by Chief Michael Rizzo, is comprised of 9 full-time and 5 part-time officers. The average years of service for SRPD officers is just over 14 years.

The South Russell Police Department is located at 5205 Chillicothe Rd, just East of the Village Hall Complex.

Michael Fabian
Lieutenant


Biography:

Michael Fabian was appointed to the position of Lieutenant on February 25, 2013.

Mike is a graduate of the Police Executive Leadership College (PELC) and the FBI National Academy. He currently serves on the Valley Enforcement Group Communication Committee.

He began his law enforcement career in 1996 as a Ranger with the Geauga Park District eventually taking a position with the Middlefield Police Department in 2005 where he held the position of Staff Sergeant and was later promoted to Lieutenant.

Mike oversees the day to day operations of the police department and is involved with the implementation and coordination of our new community based programs.
